Poor branding

Sometimes I think people go out of their way to poorly brand something. Case in point: phpass. It’s a PHP password hashing library that’s called…PHP Ass. Sure, it’s probably meant to be read pee-eych-pass rather than php-ass, but PHP is PHP, not PH. It’s like that running joke that if you don’t take care of your branding you’ll end up with a domain name like PenIsland.com.
