Creating New User Accounts
Irecently tried to create an account on craigslist, and found it to be incredibly frustrating. Why do companies insist on sending me their randomly generated passwords via email? Give me a form to fill out, and let me do it myself. I’m not going to keep using “m49djks” as my password.
The email is more than half the problem—waiting fifteen, twenty minutes for an email just to be able to log in to my account is unprofessional at best. It’s embarrassing for craigslist (and they aren’t, by a long way, the only company that is guilty of this) that I should have to go through this.
I’m old enough to pick my own password; let me do it off the bat.
